My 40th Birthday

July 10, 40th birthday and a day I shall not soon forget. Mom and Miles came up from Berkeley, Marg came down from Seattle and we were all going to Bluehour for a wonderful dinner at 7:30. Dad and Caitlin would meet us there. Fine. Nothing suspicious at all.

So I'm sitting on the couch chatting with the family, minding my own business when suddenly I hear drums.....big drums....loud drums.

I think "No, it can't be!" But it COULD be!

Yes, the Last Regiment of Syncopated Drummers was marching up the street to my house!!! And my Dad in his joker hat walking right next to them!

What a fantastic way to celebrate my birthday! I had said a few months ago that it would be so cool for a marching band to play for me on my birthday in front of my Dad listened and here's the result!

Quite the crowd gathered.......the LRSD knows how to make people sit up and take notice.

Turns out everyone but me knew what was going to was all part of the plan! Absolutely nothing can ever top this. Ever.

Very fun, being in cahoots with your dad. Great way to mark 40 years of livin'!

Such an event! A 40th birthday celebration ought to last for AT LEAST a week or so......after all, its taken "40 Years of Laura" to get there!

The beat goes on..........

: )

Hey - I don't know you but I ended up on the Godzilla pictures blog and then got here.

So 2 things.

Thing the first: Happy Birthday.

Thing the second: Is there any way I could use the picture where Godzilla is looking out on the water in my blog? I work on a blog and in my next post I'm looking to use pictures of Godzilla to make fun of some lady.

I would have e-mailed this to you directly, but I couldn't figure out how to find your e-mail.

So yeah I wanted to see if I could use that picture - you'd get credit for the image, it's just a great picture that I think could work well in our next entry.

Take care,
